Soča and Koritnica Whitewater Adventures
The Soča and its tributary stream, the Koritnica, are the most popular places in Europe for whitewater enthusiasts. Together they provide 50 kilometers of diverse conditions suitable for everyone from beginners to the most experienced paddlers.
The Soča is open to tourists from March until October each year. During the spring, ample rain coupled with alpine snowmelt guarantees high water levels with strong currents and big waves that make canoeing at this time very exciting. In summer, the water level decreases, resulting in a slower, calmer course ideal for families and the less adventurous.
Adventure Center Bovec has mini rafts and canoes suitable for two to three people. We recommend mini rafts for experienced paddlers. Our guides accompany you in a kayak or canoe to show you the line and ensure your safety.

The tour begins in the HungaroRaft’s Raft Shack located in the village center. Here we will complete your registration for the trip. Next, we will issue you all the necessary personal equipment (personal flotation device, helmet, neoprene clothing and shoes). Then we will travel for about ten minutes to the river. Here you will change into your personal equipment issued earlier. Your experienced and certified guide will then give you a complete introduction including safety instructions and paddling techniques. Then off you’ll go for an hour and half of unforgettable rafting! At the end of your trip, you will change back into your dry clothes and return the earlier issued equipment. Finally, we will drive back to our base in the center of Bovec.

- All rafting participants must be able to swim well, be psychologically and physically healthy, and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Participants under 18 years of age must provide parental or a legal guardian’s consent.
- Each participant should bring his/her own personal swimwear and towel.

A mandatory river permit (€3-€15.5 per person, depending on the specific river section) is payable in addition to the tour price. The classic Srpenica 1-Trnovo route requires a €15.5 permit as it covers two sections. Note that the €3 permit applies to the upper section during periods of high water.
