Canyons of Triglav National Park.
In the mountains surrounding the Soča valley there are many canyons and gorges with rushing streams and thundering waterfalls which feed the Soča river. Indeed the Bovec area offers the richest canyoning in Europe!
We organize canyoning tours in Fratarica and Predelica canyons. The canyons are accessed on foot by hiking the mountain trails leading to them. In the canyons we slide down natural toboggans and the shorter waterfalls. We jump from the rocks into deep crystal clear pools. Fratarica and Predelica canyons are located in the Triglav National Park, only a few minutes drive from Bovec. Both are recommended for experienced people. As a worm up, it is a good idea to make a trip in the Susec canyon first. In the more demanding canyons, Fratarica and Predelica, some rope techniques are required to rappel the longer descents. For example, the Parabola waterfall is more than 50 meters high! These two are reserved for the bravest adventure seekers!
The tour begins in the Adventure Center Bovec office located in the village center. Here we will complete your registration for the trip. Next we will issue you all the necessary personal equipment (helmet, neoprene clothing, shoes and slide pants). Then we will travel about ten minutes by bus to the canyon‘s trailhead. Here you will change into your personal equipment issued earlier. Then we will walk for about 20-25 minutes to the entrance of the canyon. Your experienced and certified guide will then give you a complete introduction including safety instructions about sliding and jumping techniques. Then off you’ll go for an hour and a half to two and a half hours of unforgettable canyoning! At the end of your trip, you will change back into your dry clothes and return the earlier issued equipment. Finally, we will transport you by bus back to our office in the center of Bovec. This takes about twenty minutes.
Adventure Center Bovec canyoning trips begin twice daily, at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
We recommend canyoning to those who aren’t afraid of heights and enjoy the swimming, sliding and jumping activities of water parks.
